Curious what others do with your legacy / older scanners that don't get used as much...

I was going through my scanners today that have seen limited use over they years and curious what others use your older scanners for or sell them off?

Mostly mine sit in a box - I do still use a few (Pro-2006) for specific monitoring purposes (e.g. Air band). I'm sure I am not the only one that has them collecting dust. I am considering selling some of them as I downsize post-retirement, but it's so hard to part with some of my "kids" :)

Is/was it a decent model? If so, keep it. Otherwise sell or use for parts.
I have had added discriminator taps to some. They are used to feed PCs (UniTrunker, etc.)
I have quite a few "older models" still running 24/7. There's a heck of a lot out there that is conventional VHF/UHF (analog).

Any of the old ones I had:
BC-100 - I think when it stopped working, I took it apart and reused some of the parts for other projects. I think I only recently tossed the old knobs.
Old AOR-something hand held, gave it to my brother.
BC-560 - Pretty sure I sold that at a ham fest.
BC-895 - Bought this at work to monitor my old systems. 25 years old, still chugging along listening to the few analog repeaters we still have.

I don't like storing things I'm never going to use, I'd rather make money off them, or pass them on to someone that can use them. If I can sell them or give them away, I tend to scrap them for parts and recycle whatever I can. I've sold all my old amateur gear, and made a surprising amount of money off the suckers on e-Bay. Even my old LMR gear is mostly gone off to e-Bay.

Thinking of making another run to one of the hamster-fests later on this spring.

I hoard all of my old stuff like the addiction that it is (and a career), then I try to find uses for them.

My work has me administering a large AstroTrbo Motorola network that spans the nation. However, there is still a lot of analog only systems, so I have a stack of Pro-2032's, Pro-2040 and Pro-2005 at my desk for monitoring various radio traffic in the area.

When the blue Angels show up, one of them gets to listen to their comms, otherwise is is tugs on the nearby river, or trains comms in the area.

My area still uses analog for Police, Fire, Sheriff and Ambulance so I still use mine.

RCA 16S400 - Non visible area of the living room plugged into an Alexa switch. Whenever I hear a siren, I just say, "Computer.. scanner on".
Uniden/Bearcat 800XLT - On the headboard of the bed a perfect place for it's nice fluorescent display.
