Ok guys call me cheap or a genius, surely someone has thought of this before. I thought about installing another moblie scanner in the truck and leave the handleld at home. I wanted a mount that looked nice, and figured I'd bend one out of flat steel. Then the light came on as it usually does, and I remembered I had another book-end....custom mount for afew bucks. I used the first one to hold my handheld scanner as it was easy to knock over. This might work well for those that want to mount on piece of equipment on the floor and don't have time to fabricate something. Plenty sturdy, already painted, and the only holes that will need to be drilled would be to mount it to the floor. Can't fabricate one for a few bucks. Here's afew pix, I need to remove the handheld mount and screw this one to the floor, but it's too cold today. It'll atleast give an idea.

It's made of thin metal. When it warms up, I'll try to get it mounted to the floor and get better pictures.

Nice!
I use a small, clear plastic brochure holder for my two older Uniden handheld scanners at home - they fit almost perfectly and one sits higher than the other in a nice vertical line.

Thanks for the compliments....genious...I kinda like it! I did venture down to the hardware store and picked up some longer self-drilling screws for mounting the bracket to the floor, might get it done this week-end...I'll have to post a pix when I'm through.

Thanks for your post and the pics.... I picked up the same set of two for 6.88, today at wallyworld. Great stands from my pro 163 & 164. Bolts and nuts for 97 cents :)

Here's acouple pix of the finished install. The mount wasn't quite as sturdy as I had hoped so I took a small bungee cord and tied it back to the seat It's not noticeable and made things alittle more solid. Eitherway for afew bucks I think it'll work fine.
