I have started hearing more air traffic in my area (San Antonio). From July through the end of November I heard 5 air units. In December alone I heard 4. Now some of you may hear them all the time (I hope) but I consider this a substantial increase.

Does anyone keep a log of the Air (or Marine too- I have a few of those logged) assets? I log the ones I catch- rarely get any other callsign than Omaha or Mike.

For some good lists I have found these:
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/border_security/air_marine/air/aviation_asset/

and also:
http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/waf/usa/USCBP/CBP-home.htm

I believe that air assets in this area are usually coming out of Laredo or Dallas (as I usually here some say they are en route from one to the other). I'd like to know definitively where most are stationed- 'cause I wanna take a little photography trip.

Might be of help, I am having real internet connectivity issues due to the cold weather I am surmising and searches are taking a looooong time. I have tried a couple on the above blog but cannot seem to locate the list (tail numbers and sector assignments) I am thinking of, but, I know it was here not long ago. TONS of great info here, this guy deserves a medal.

Happy New Year to you from Snohell/Spokane.

commstar,
Thanks, I had seen that blog and searched through it a lot more just now- he does do a good job documenting many things I find extremely interesting (I believe the site hosting that blog has some upload speed issues also).

The picture of Omaha 2MR he has is very impressive.
