• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Just giving a heads up to those who might consider this a viable option, they are awful. HT1000 batteries that were supposedly “in stock” are out of stock. Was promised a ship date of the 15th, 20th, and now 28th, took $198.00 from PayPal and nothing.

Just got a cookie cutter from customer relations, the same one I’ve received 3 times now Thank you for your order. We regret to inform you that part of your order number 41341 has been back-ordered. Your order is expected to ship on 9/28/2018. While we do our best to maintain adequate inventory of all the products we sell, sometimes we do run out of stock. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. We promise to ship your order as quickly as possible.

You will receive an email confirmation as soon as your order has left our warehouse. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I find deceitful at best to advertise a product as being “in stock”, charge a premium for upgraded shipping, then respond with this canned email every time I ask. I understand the Jedi series is a legacy product, and folks aren’t all that interested, but if you advertise something as being “in stock”, it should be, and it’s highway robbery to charge a premium for expedited shipping and then not deliver

I have ordered Tetra and Saber batteries from them in the past with no issues. The plastic on the Saber batteries was questionable but other than that they worked well.

Many online "retailers" falsely advertise items in stock these days. Many don't stock the items in inventory and they don't want to loose sales because of it. So they lie.

I ran into the exact same problem. Also quality is questionable as batteries tend to dry out after just one or two years. I even once recieved a dead Saber battery. I contacted Cut Rate via mail and got a useless standard response of absolutely no use to me. I then decided to kickstart the battery with a charger which brought it back to life again. Cut Rate lack proper caretaking of their costumers.
