The Aircraft band search function on your radio is your friend. You'd be surprised what you can log using it.

Yup, the hard part is figuring out who they all are???? I still have a crap load of UNKNOWNS... I wish flight schools would start teaching radio theory. VHF is line-of-sight!

Press Manual.

Press the search button and press again and again until it displays "Aircraft".

Up and down buttons for search up and search down.

Pause stops and starts the search.

There's a few other ranges preprogrammed into this radio as well.

You can also program a Limit Search to speed up your search or make the range smaller to search only a specific part of the AIR band.

Erik the only thing the flight schools teach the new pilots is to do everything the can to keep that big fan on the front or wings of the aircraft working. Lol teaching them about radios might confuse them.

Don't forget the other airports like Front Range, Jeffco, Centennial and Buckley-all of which are great fun to listen to. The towers are Front Range, 118.60, Centennial 118.90, Jeffco 120.200 and Buckley 121.00. Also listening to Denver Approach 128.450 often yields references to other frequencies. Adkad
