D.I.A. Rebanding has begun. LCN's 6-10 and 15 are offline tonight.

If they keep the transition simple the new LCN/Freq breakdown should be:

LCN-6 851.3625
LCN-7 851.6625
LCN-8 851.9375
LCN-9 852.5375
LCN-10 852.8375
LCN-15 857.6375

DIA Feed is affected

The 245 providing the feed is tracking fine currently (original freqs). I'll have to keep an eye on it. If I remember correctly, I should have no issue with EDACS rebanding (Westy worked fine).

They will probably turn on the ESK when all the new radios are rotated in; does anybody know?

I noticed the are using PV more on the PW system.

They're doing it the same way they did PS. Take the repeaters being retuned off the system, retune them, reprogram all field radios, add those retuned repeaters back into the system, test field radios by having the CC temporarily move to the retuned channels/LCN to make sure the field radios work then when all looks good make the change permanent.

ESK. Still a rumour or is it fact now?

PV on PW? Regular PW Agency-Fleet groups or patch-o-matic/simulcast PV groups like C.U. Aurora, Narc, TF?

My Bad; I meant PS instead of PW.

They are using PV a lot lately on some of the PS narc & surveillance activities, only certain radios on normally analog TG's. Could be playing with them to see how it works with simulcast--??
Are you able to look at it with Etrunker?
AFAIK all of the new DIA radios are ESK enabled

No, no no. Never was a rumor except here on the list. ESK was installed on radios that interact with the PS trunk: PD, FD, EMS. For those, ESK is already working. There are no plans for ESK on any other units, nor for the system itself.

Since I'm using an old 245 for the feed, if they start using ESK, the feed will go bye-bye.

Nothing all that interesting happening out there, anyway. Loooong periods of silence on the radio when I'm out there...
Sorry, I'm just frustrated that someone is apparently telling people we're going ESK, someone who probably doesn't know what they're talking about and probably doesn't have anything to do with radio at the airport, but they get listened to instead of the people that actually work out there. I guess scary rumors get more attention than boring facts.
I'll be going in to get my radio reprogrammed this week. I promise to get the real story and bring it back. Until then, please don't stress out until there's something to stress about!

I understand your frustration doz.

After multiple transitions of PS since last year they've learned enough to hopefully make the Airport system transition easily.

Public Works could be interesting when they start rebanding the 860.xxx freqs.

It's a different culture out there, so the changes tend to go more smoothly. We all know each other and there's much less interdepartment rivalry than in the city. The general attitude is, "What can I/we do to make things work better?" It's been a great experience.

No demand to ESK DIA system

This is correct. Out of 2413 radios on the system, only 289 have ESK. The ESK radios are Police, Fire, EMS and a few odd ones. Therer is no demand from anyone at this time to ESK the entire system.

Since the public works system has already switched I thought I would get this thread back in the light of day.

So far no change with the D.I.A. system as of this post.
