Hi,
Do receiving only.

I have a new SDS200.
It is being fed from an old Scantenna in the attic. I think the model was ST-2, if I remember correctly.
The output is also, occasionally, fed to a SDRPlay RSP-2, and then to a SDR program like SDRUno on my pc.

Hence, I want to use a passive, and hopefully not too expensive, COAX antenna switch.
The Alpha Delta and Diamond's are somewhat more than I'd like to spend, but possibly.

Have seen in Amazon and elsewhere two Daiwa switches which I would appreciate your
opinions on.

First, anyone using these, or Daiwa in general ? Quality, etc. ?

One switch is a CS 201A
0-600 MHz
SO 239 connectors
Insertion Loss: <0.2 db (at ?)

The other is a CS 201 GII
0-2 GHz
N connectors
Insertion Loss: <1.2 db at 1.2 GHz

*For my scanner usage, think I would notice any difference between them in practice ?

Should I go with the 201 GII as it has a higher freq. range spec ?
The difference in cost is trivial.
But, it uses N connectors which would be, for me,would be a pain to implement. But doable.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated, as always, thanks,
Bob

Get a multicoupler, and you can have all of the receivers active full time.

Hi Jonathan,

Would like to first say how much I appreciate All your help over
these many months. Advice ihas always been good, and clear, and most appreciated.
In my 80's now, and can really use the help. So, thanks again.

Might you suggest a specific multicoupler for the scanner frequencies ?

And, what I imagine would have to be a different one, for the <30 MHz sw bands ?

I guess these would be powered, rather than the cheap "splitters" that are avail. True ?

Would the Insertion losses would be comparable to a good quality coax switch ?

Regards,
Bob

They have an amplifier to offset the signal decrease from splitting the signal.

One unit goes from 500KHz to 50MHz, the other goes from 25MHz to 1GHz. 2, 4, and 8 ports.

Bob, just a suggestion, FWIW.

You may not want to have three different threads going at the same time for basically the same question.
