The local news here in San Antonio has said that the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft has flown from California's Edwards AFB to an unnamed airport in Dallas (well, "unnamed" might be a misinterpretation but the news didn't disclose where). I imagine it is at DFW (the largest airport in TX). The heavily modified Boeing 747 shouldn't be too hard to spot.

As far as I know (this is an assumption- I haven't landed in DFW in about 5 years), it is the only 747 at DFW currently with a Space Shuttle sitting on top of it...

Has anyone heard anything on any NASA frequencies (since they're SOOO active in Texas I'm sure SOMEONE was monitoring them)?

Has anyone heard anything on any airport security freqs?

Might be a good time to search the fed band...

Evidently it is in town for the night and, unless held up by weather, will be departing tomorrow for the Cape.

If anyone can get close some pictures would be awesome...

KHOU Ch 11 and KRIV Ch 26 showed the piggy-backed shuttle and a chase aircraft during the 12 Noon - 12:30 newscasts, stating that the planes were circuling Ellington Field. Sorry, I live too far away to catch any comms from my house. But the weather was perfect for the event: Blue Skies, light wind, much better when compared to last night's clouds and snow.

Edit: Later newscasts showed the planes doing a low pass above/along EFD's main runway. The chase plane could be the one with the TV camera.
