Typing that into GOOGLE has:

"AS far as First Responder organizations in the DFW area, they are few. In
Dallas County there is the Dallas County Emergency Corps. I think that is
still there name. It is run by the County Fire Marshal, Jim Badgett. You
could contact him and get all the information you needed on all volunteer
agencies in the county."

Yeah, I ran in to them accidently the other night. I thought I'd seen an old VHF Low band license for them some years back. The "Chiefs" name was not Jim Badgett. They had more lighting on there truck then a spaceship. Strobe, LED, Ect. and a Loud dual band radio. with Amature and Public safety mixed in. Green Jackets bearing the name Dallas County Emergency Corps. but sort of acted like REACT rejects. Clad with Storm Spotter Decals and a rear end full of Hiway Cones. I still don't know what to think. the dude said he had a 9watt Motorola Saber III for like $170.00 for VHF. that just didn't sound rite to me.

Thanks ND5Y I can't seem to get that page to load, I'll try it again later.

I appriciate all the help in this. I dunno, maybe they are just a bunch of accident junkies. who knows.

I E-Mailed them last week trying to find out more about them but still have not received a responce. Looking at their web site looks like more agencies in Dallas County do not want their services then the number of agencies that do.

Yeah Rick, and the site is down again. seems they are in a struggle to survive. interestingly enough, DPD was in chase with a Mini Truck Black, the other night which was running red and blue Code 3 lights and siren, in neiborhoods near Abrams and Royal Ln. which is a vehicle simular to one used by DCEC.

I have a Call in to Dallas Co. Fire & Rescue, and have had no response as of yet. But I do believe this group has no affiliation with Dallas County. and might be in legal conflict with the County and other County Agencies.

Thanks everyone for the help.

That is what I was wondering. Where do they get their legal authority to respond code? What if any training do they have?

I too see that the site is down. We may never get the answers now.

Check it out:

They Just went on Com/Net's T-Band LTR System. Their vehicles are UN-MARKED But Run RED AND BLUE Lights Forward and Rear. They ID themselves as a COUNTY AGENCY. But Claim 501-C-3 Not for Profit Status. Their Lights AND Radios are DONATED Lighting, Directly by Companies Like Whelen, Code-3 and Federal Signal Corp. The Radio's they Operate are either DONATED Conventional Units, AMATURE Modified for TX/RX On Business AND Public Safety Bands. and The LTR system they somehow got a REDUCED RATE by being a COUNTY of DALLAS Entity.

They say they have Applied for a Weapons Permit with Austin, Like a Security Company would, they Possess Pepper Spray and ASP Battons while there sole practice is Accident Control????? I am Missing Something here........

Are they on the VHF or 900 System? Any idea on Talkgroups?

I don't see how they can affiliate themselves as a County Agancy and at the same time claim no-fault indemnity with the County citing the Good Samaritan Act. These guys are in uniform and driving vechicles with Emergency Warning Equipment. These guys are looking and acting like first responders. The Good Samaritan Act is for Joe Citizen not somebody who appears to the public as a first responder. (Or at least that is they way I understand it). Any you say they are applying for weapons permits now? In addition they are driving their POV's code. I hope they have good insurance because I don't think the Good Samaritan Act is going to save them in a court of Law.

I see their website is back minus the Dallas Fire Rescue Photographs. Must be part of the "We don't Support Dallas Fire Rescue" line.

I had sent them a E-Mail back before Thanksgiving but I never received a responce. I guess they don't like people asking them questions. At first I thought they were concerned citizens wanting to help, but I am starting to think now that they are nothing but "Wanna-be"s.

Chief Jones at the Dallas Co. Fire Marshal's Office which is a divison of the Dallas Co. Department of Homeland Security Was not Impressed with them either. Infact, after He reviewed there web site, He was quite Agitated, so much that while he had me on the Phone, He contacted His Boss Bob Grant-The Dallas Co. Fire Marshal and got him interested in these people.
They said they would get back to me................................................

Com/Net operate VHF-LTR, UHF-LTR and 900-LTR. They (DCEC) Claim to be on the UHF T-Band System (483.0000 to 512.0000) if you do a web or FCC Search, the licenses will kick back to COM-NET Communications, Lonnie Dancheck or something close to that last name.

The Site is based on the Nations Bank Tower on Main (The Green Neon Tower) and the Splitter sites run a Star Formation out from there. so SE, SW, West, East and North.

As for TG-ID's they were given just one. and they didn't know it, Infact, they were bragging about being on the SAME Trunked System the City of Dallas was on. Hummm, and these Guys are FCC Licensed Amature Radio Operators??

Anyways, Have a Good Morning.

These guys are funny. As we all know the city of Dallas does do all of their Public Saftey on UHF but it not trunked. The only trunked system for the City of Dallas is the Motorola 800 Trunk for Operations.

Now Box 4, http://www.box4.org who provide rehab services for Dallas Fire Rescue, use a LTR Trunked System off of the Nations Bank Tower but they are on one of the Delta Communications Systems.

These yo-yo's ARE NOT affiliated with Box-4 (Thank god) Box-4 is a good organization.

And yes, these guys ARE funny! They were trying to convince EVERYONE the Dallas TRS was LTR. NOT! I do believe, they Do Not have a clue about Trunked radio. and I did NOT offer this site to them as a resource. (for fear they would attempt to program there radio's with this info, then when caught blame everyone here - I wouldn't see the humor in that.) Incidently, they wern't hanging out in their normal spot this morning (race trac - Greenville/LBJ)

Identifing Waynes systems (DCAE-Delta) is not an easy task, Wayne does some difficult programming with His LTR's. as where Lonnie and Com/Net's arnt as dificult, Just harder to find ALL there frequencies.

Anyways, Off to the Grind.

PS-It is interesting to see these guys Mobile Radio set-up. They Run Modified Kenwood 2M/70cm Remote units, with DPD/DFD/DSO and DPS and a sprinkling of Amature stations. additionally, They do claim the TX Inhibit is not turned off for public safety, meaning they can key say DPD-2-NE. (I wonder what DPD would think of that?) the Guy has a Mobile relay behind the seat of his truck Oh, and he operates a 70cm repeater in the Garland area. 444.9750 94.? PL with Inter-Connect.

I hope the Dallas Co. Fire Marshal get's them, these are the people who make Legitimet Volunteer services have to tackle new laws each year set up to keep the public safe (or safer) from these idiots.

Ya know, Dallas RACES wont have anything to do with them, so they claim ARES. it's against Dallas RACES policy to run Mobile Warning lights when in a Skywarn Net. I wonder if K5JD knows anything about them?

So how old is that info on Google? Or has Dallas Co had more than one Fire Marshall serving in the past month?

Pretty Old. I spoke with Chief Jones on PS. he is Just a Chief under the Fire Marshal (Jim Badgett) However, The DCEC HAS NOT Been patrolling lately! AND a City of Dallas Fire Inspector has been prowling about in the areas which DCEC frequents. So, My belief is they were NOT legit, and have had there operations shut down - For the Safety of the Community!
(There is a God after all - And he is a firefighter too)

(a) Who authorized you for Red/Blue Lights (running Forward)?
(b) Who Authorized you to Use Code-3 Methods to Move Traffic out of your way?
(c) Why did the Dallas County Fire Marshals office have NO Record of DCEC?
(d) did you know that Dallas County Emergency Corps. Are allready a Licensed agency within the Dallas Sheriffs office, and ya'all wer'nt it?
(e) DCEC was mis-representing itself to Consumers, Private sector Law Enforcment, and Emergency equipment Retailers. Do you know that is a punishable violation of the law?
(f) By stating "We are a County Agency" (Which ya'all did alot) you were falsely identifing yourselves? (A BIG No-No in Texas)
(g) And who in Gods name gave you permission to have direct frequency access to DFD, DPD & DSO. on their frequencies I'd love to see that FCC Authorized License privilage. (it is public record, after all)

But by ya'all running red/blue combo lighting forward and useing two-tone sirens to ORDER Civialians off the road, and when need be Hailing them in voice over a loud speeker. while claiming to be an affiliate of DALLAS COUNTY but the County officials having NO record of Such Agency. YOU ALL SHOULD BE JAILED!

and then there's that little affiliation with SKYWARN and ARES. SKYWARN DOES NOT ENDORSE THE USE OF EMERGENCY LIGHTING DURING STORM SPOTTING EVENTS. AND NOR DO ARES. In Fact in Dallas County, All Storm Chase Operations are done exclusivly by W5FC and the Dallas County RACES Organization. Under the direction of the City of Dallas office of Emergency Operations who are DIRECTLY in Contact with the Mayor and the Dallas Co. Fire Marshal who Have Not a Clue who ya'all are!
