A 14 year veteran Dallas firefighter, William Scott Tanksley, died last night working an accident scene on a frozen overpass. A vehicle passing the accident scene lost traction on the icy overpass and struck another car and then the firefighter. The firefighter fell over the railing and down 56 feet onto Interstate 20 as a result of being struck. Fellow firefighters rushed to his aid but was unable to revive him.
