Since DFR finally starting using Tac channels for fire ground, I have heard on Tac 5, companies switching to channels 16? Not seeing any talk groups for that on RR? Anybody been able to figure out what TG that might be yet?

465.6375 conventional (simplex/direct) Check out Dallas County in the database. That and a couple others were added there recently. They're all simplex(direct), so unless you're close, you likely will not hear them.

I have not heard any references to Channel (or Tac) 16. Channel 6 is has often been referenced as being using for fire scene 'tactical, with Channel 5 referenced as fire scene Command. I have my SDS100 set to look for (so far) unidentified TGIDs on NTIRN, recording all activity, then reviewing the audio files to try & determine usage for previously unknown talk groups. I'm not seeing any unknown TGIDs in what might be the expected for a Channel 16, if that were assigned.

I'll flip the old simplex channels back into that profile & see if I'm getting any activity. Yes, being simplex, range is not great, but from my location, in Oak Cliff, I've heard activity (in the past) at a fair radius from my location for working incidents.

The few Dallas Structure Fires I have listened too lately, they didn't move to a Direct channel 15/16, until after tapouts and during overhaul. Fort Worth also has Direct Channels, often hear companies on scene ask someone to go to Direct 15 or 16, while the incident remains on the assigned Tac channel.
