Pro-93, 95, 96, I think the 43 and 64 can, I don't know about the 94. BC 250/780, 296/796, upcoming 246. The Sony Airwave scanner or whatever i think can. Most wideband receivers. I think that is all but if anyone has anymore, go on ahead and add to the list.

BTW- the 93 and 95 aren't very sensitive in the Airband range. I don't know about the 96. I think the Unidens are real sensitive in mil air. What type of scanner do you have?

Want Mil Air, Go Uniden or the On Sale Radio Shack pro-2052 they are about the best to get Mil Air on.

Uh, the frequency "239.3" IS Classified as Mil Air. even though it may be used by Civillian Aircraft, it is a band Comonly known as Mil-Air. And most Radio Shack Scanners don't have it, while Most Uniden Scanners Do. in addition, the Blue Angels have Numerous assignments on the VHF Real High Band. USAF/USN Do 90% of there air to air in this range. Not to mention everyone else who may matter in a National Crisis or Disaster. A highly recomended must for any scannerist is a radio that recieves these frequencies.

I have never heard civilian A/C on the 225-400MHz band. You are right in that 239.3 is Milair. Also to listen to the T-birds especially, your scanner must be able to override the default mode. Say when you program in the birds main freq 141.850 it will default to FM. It would need to be changed manually to AM for clear comms. As for the Unidens being sensitive in that band mine doesn't have any problems. The PRO-96 won't pick up milair until that band is unlocked by downloading a program. I hear that still doesn't work that well for a scanner not designed for the band.

I have heard a USAF fighter shortly after 9/11 contact a civilain aircraft on UHF Gaurd (243.0000). It is my understanding that most of the commercial international aircraft have both the VHF, and UHF aeronautical radios, as well as HF.

Aircraft tower comms

The military also uses 257.8 MHz to talk to the civilian airport towers :D

Thanks for that insigt, Milf. Now I think about it I remember hearing a Delta MD-80 give BNA tower a radio check on the UHF tower freq 257.800
I also noticed now fighter A/C are now being equiped with a VHF radio as well. A lot of them used to be "Uniform" only. Because when Bush is in town I've heard many CAP planes call to civilian A/C on 121.500 Telling them to vacate the area immediately. I guess I should clarify that some fighters had VHF all along but a lot didn't way back when.

Well the only real reason I wanted love field's freq's is so I can get more info on Airport Alerts. Dallas Fire/Rescue handles them, but they switch to Love Field's freqs to talk with the tower, which is probably simplex anyway. Thanks for all that info! I may just go out and get me another scanner for aircraft monitoring.
