Danbury ER

Hi All,

Does anyone know what frequency EMS uses to contact Danbury ER to give report? PL/DPL also?

In the immediate Danbury Area, Northwest CMED uses Med-8 to patch in to Danbury ER, thats (Base) 463.175, and (mobile) 468.175 with a PL of 192.8. The repeater is usually on, so you really only need the Base side.
There are times when they may use the Southbury Med 1 tower to patch in, (463.000 PL 192.8), and they may also use the Roxbury Med 7 tower, (463.15 PL 192.8).
There is a Redding tower, but i am not sure how often it is used.

I also believe that Northwest CMED has a couple of transmitters on top of Danbury Hospital.

Med-6 463.125 468.125 Redding

Med-7 463.150 468.150 New Milford
Med-8 463.175 468.175 Danbury
Med-8 463.175 468.175 New Fairfield
Med-9 462.950 467.950 Watertown
Med-10 462.975 467.975 Danbury
Med-10 462.975 467.975 Watertown (statewide)

All have 192.8 PL except Med-10 statewide is 210.7.
Med-9, 10 and 1 are patched together. You're able to hear the Waterbury area units in Danbury,
and the Danbury area units in Waterbury and both on Med-1 in the Woodbury area...

Med-2 in Prospect has recently become very active as Northwest C-med is now patching ambulances
to Griffin Hospital in Derby. Units call in and patch on Med-2 directly. Northwest now dispatches
fire/ambulance for several towns in that surrounding area.

A few corrections to this list::
Med 1 was moved from the top of Upper Grassy Hill in Woodbury, to the Comm Tower at Southbury Training School a few years ago.

Med 7 was moved from the telephone pole in the corn field on Chapin Rd in New Milford, to the Comm Tower on Lower County Road in Roxbury last year.

Med 8 is on Danbury Hospital, not New Fairfield.

Just to let everyone know, this is / was a major bone of contention between South Central (New Haven) C-MED and NWPS. Griffin is in the South Central Region 2 district and controls the communications there. Supposedly NWPS started doing patches to Griffin for Seymour and Oxford (who they dispatch for fire / EMS but are in the South Central region under OEMS). As of late, I have not heard NWPS patch anyone to Griffin on Med 2 anymore and all ambulance to hospital communications are going through South Central on Med 1 and Med 6. Also Seymour Fire and EMS was dispatched by C-MED New Haven but there was some sort of "falling out" with the powers that be a few years ago. I know South Central ordered NWPS Med two radio out of Griffin, at least that was what I was told. Also the VEMS Medics that cover the "Valley" area are dispatched through South Central on MED 10 (SC PL 167.9)

I used to work C-MED New Haven there and still have contacts there, as well as know a couple people who worked at NWPS. I will see if I can get anymore information concerning this and have the correct information in a couple of days.

Sorry to go off topic about Danbury, just wanted to put that out there for an FYI.

The best thing any of the valley towns can do is get away from new Haven C-med.
The list of things they do wrong would take up hours.
Anyway someone said that at the state level they are talking about making it so that the C-meds are not alloud to do primary dispatch.
They only need 1 C-med for the state about 6-7 dispatchers that just do hospital patching and we could save allot money
