Dane County Sherriff, they on the county TRS?

Hey there, got a question that has been nagging at me for a bit, i`ve been looking at the frequency listings for Dane County (getting my BCD396T all set up), and i`m wondering if the sherriff is still using the (i think) VHF channels i saw listed, or have they moved to the County TRS? if they have gone to the TRS, what are the TGID`s (talkgroup ID`s)? They are still on regular VHF. Eventually there will be a VHF trunked system that they will be moving to but that will be down the road.

There isn't a county wide TRS right now and it's just in the planning stages.

City of Madison is 800 mhz trunked along with a couple other departments that have TG's on the system.

The rest of the police and fire departments in the county are VHF or UHF.

Hey thanks! I just recently got my BCD396T, and am getting it programmed for this state (and a few others too). From what i`ve read on here it sounds like a goodly many years before this VHF system even gets off the ground. Same with the statewide system they`re putting up too. If i wanted to just listen to the city police nothing elce what would i program in trunked?

Unfortunatly yes, you would have to set `em up trunked as the Madison PD has moved onto the Dane County TRS. At least the Sherriff still is on the conventional system yet, but that`s probably gonna change down the road too. One bit of note here though, don`t abandon the old UHF channels they used to use because if the main TRS takes a dump they`ll most likely use those old freqs for comms till the problem that took the TRS out is fixed. k let me explain just what i mean... I want to just listen to Madison Police Talkgroup not ems fire or any others. how would i program that? as far as trunked.
Ok there are 4 Red (c) are Primary Control Channels 857.96250c 858.73750c 858.96250c 859.73750c then 18 others. I'm wondering if i can program just the

Madison Police Talkgroups in and leave off all the others ... if so what control freq would that be and witch of the other 18?

I`m not sure what model of scanner ya are using to listen to Madison PD, but the short version is once ya have the talkgroup ID`s just enter `em into the system in which ya have the Dane County TRS stored. I just found the TGID`s for Madison PD, want me to private message ya or just post `em or email `em to ya? N9NRA
