Dare County/Outer Banks News

Planning for our yearly September trip to Salvo, NC. I noticed that Dare County has recently been granted a handful of 800mhz frequencies for Buxton and Kittyhawk. All of the base station licenses are in Buxton. Is this the beginning of a transition to an 800mhz system for Dare County? It seems like the current PD, fire, and EMS communications systems work pretty well for the county's needs!

Also, VIPER has licenses for Rodanthe, Buxton, and Kitty Hawk in Dare County. Are these system sites active?

Any other goodmonitoring news for the OBX?

Ditto except we're Aug and we're Currituck Co. Any changes up that way?
