It looks like I'm going to give this a try. I watched a video on running darkice on a Raspberry Pi but it didn't mention whether I should load the graphical interface or just the command line. Although they did give the commands as command line, there are things like running the audio equalizer that are graphical based. I'm kind of new to Linux.

I'm asking because I definitely want to run the equalizer. I've noticed that there are quite a few feeds that have ground loops and hum they could easily be notched out with equalizer. I want to make sure that I have a clean feed.

I catch on pretty quick but I don't know all the buzzwords. Go easy on me.

Thank you in advance.

You can do it either way. Darkice is a command line program. You can run it in a terminal window using the GUI if that is your preference. Could you share the link to the youtube you mentioned?

setting up darkice and streaming from the pi is not as difficult as many of the outdated instructions on the web make it.
