155.3400 (186.2) is the frequency/PL tone for Central Vermont Medical Center. I'd guess DHART was picking the patient up at the hospital & was talking directly to the ER. The LZ is at the hospital.
If you've got your scanner programmed to frequency 155.3400 with NO PL tone entered, you'll here the ER of Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) talking back to the local ambulance.
That same frequency with a PL tone of 97.4 is the local ambulance talking to the ER at CVMC, local meaning central Vermont.
Different PL Tones with that 155.3400 frequency programmed in will sometimes get you different hospitals:
114.8 = North Country Hospital
156.7 = Gifford Hospital
162.2 = Shelburne Rescue (?) Not positive
136.5 = Groveton, NH (?) Not positive on this one although I heard Groveton mentioned when it stopped on the PL 136.5
Edit (added text): I could be wrong but from what I hear on the scanner for that 155.3400 frequency and from what I said before, I'm pretty sure that PL Tone of 186.2 was the DHART helicopter talking to CVMC. Just like when the local ambulance talks to the CVMC, I hear it on PL Tone 97.4.
I hear that distinct whine of a helicopter motor in the background when they (DHART) are talking to CVMC on PL Tone 186.2. I've heard them twice in the last 6 months in my area.
Now, I don't know what frequency or PL Tone DHART transmits on in other areas of the Vermont but for the Central Vermont area-155.3400 PL 186.2 is where I've heard them.
