In either case (no matter which radio you used), you need to install a tap in a circuit that has the raw signal BEFORE it is amplified and reshaped by the audio stages. This is known as a discriminator circuit. This is not something I would recommend for a novice, especially on the SMT circuitry of a PRO96.

If you are trying to decode a 9600 baud system, you need not tap anything. There's a special program called Pro96Com that is set up for the PRO96 (and 2096) for that purpose.

However, if you're going to tap something, I'd probably try the PRO92. I don't know exactly where the correct tap point is, but I'll bet someone here does. If not, there's a discussion board on PRO92.com, or on the PRO92 Yahoo group. Both of these links, and some others, exist on the
