Came across a data stream on 141.042 that looks like a P25 wave form.
Have not noticed this signal until now, and cannot obtain a decode using DSD.
Could others in the Ottawa area take a look please. Thanks!

Are you sure of this frequency? I tried punching it in my scanners (SDS100 & BCD 325P2). It changes the frequency to 141.04375

Got a signal here near NYC/Long Island. Looks like P25 but wont decode. Others have suggested a test pattern.

@mmisk I was going to suggest something regarding the replacement for FleetNet, however your found frequency does not follow the 15 kHz spacing. Looks off a bit.
Try tuning around and see if you get a better decode.

6.25Khz step size. look for a Quebec user. As mciupa says it does not fit the Ontario band plans.

It has been running all day and no decode. Just curious as I can decode all other control channels.
It is definitely on 141.042 as I tried it on a number of radios including an ICOM 2M.
Here is a sample:

Yes, I tried receiving it on other receivers and the frequency is the same.
I am using a 2m antenna at about 60ft, in Ottawa south east end near 417 and Boundary Road.
The signal is not strong but should be a good decode compared to similar signals.
So, interesting anyway, something to do these days.

I do not have SDR. I guess my Uniden scanners are useless on this site. No biggie

@mmisk what program and version is that?

I was using the most resent version of Fastlane.
FMP and DSD combination.
I also tried Unitrunker however it could barely produce a readable signal.

I meant the program in your attachment showing the freq on the spectrum. Is that sdr# or sdr++? And which version?

@dave3825:

That is SDR# v.0.0.1275
Perhaps an older version but certainly does the job.

That signal on 141.042 must be a distant location, and 141.044 might be a little more accurate.
Strange there is no decode, as I can reliably decode other signals that have the same signal strength.
If it tune off frequency, then FMP automatically centers on 141.04675.

Perhaps an audio capture? Different Control Channels have different sounds. Maybe someone will recognize the sound. Also you may want to link this thread into the Quebec forums.

With Pres. Biden coming to town next week that signal could be any number of temporary things.....
As to the US Secret Service, I tend to think they would be given a waiver to use the common 162-174 US Federal channels, vs creating something new for each country POTUS may visit.

Similar to the waivers that Foreign dignitaries get when visiting the US.

Nobody suggested that it may be a US agency. Canada does have Federal police and security agencies, plus there's inter-operability to consider.

You are the one who mentioned POTUS  Just pointing out some information, as "WE" all speculate on what this may or may not be

Here is a view using FMP24

It does sound like a P25 data stream, but no decode.

Fun to have something like this to play around with, will leave it on all day.
