Butel's EaszyStream Server........text tags freeze up after a short period .....make sense to anybody? Using a BC246T / USB connection set at 57,600 for baud rate. Other settings I left alone on the com port and they are

Data Bits 8

Parity None

Stop Bits 1

Flow Control None

also:

Use FIFO Buffers is checked

Receive Buffer is at Windows Default (14)

Transmit Buffer is at Windows Default also (16)

That's one of the problems (text tags freezing) I've been reporting, and working with Gommert on since November.

So far Norton AV has been suggested as the cause of the problem, but in my latest try to fix it, I disabled it on both the client and the server, and the problem still occurred.

Before that the suggested fix was to download a newer version of the software and install. I tried that and it also did not fix the problem.

Before that power saving features were suggested as a possible cause for the problem, but I verified that none were enabled on the systems when the problem occurs.

If you resolve the issue, please let me know what you did to fix it.

Ed

Text tags are staying working this morning !!!!! I don't want to put mine online until it's right , now the audio is "choppy"....it must be our service , I have Verizon DSL...I really don't know what to do about it....it took me two days just to get my machine configured for it to make it work,,,,that was my lack of knowledge more than anything. I wonder if the no-ip.com has anything to do with it , that's how I have mine setup...I am no pro with this stuff.....bet on one thing , I'll learn....he he

No. All no-ip.com does is turn a name into an ip address for whoever is trying to *connect to you*. After the 30 or 40 microseconds it takes to do that, no-ip.com is no longer used.

Howdy,

Would someone plug in fmon.no-ip.info and observe if any text is present?

TIA

nslookup gave me this:
Code:
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: fmon.no-ip.info
Address: 71.88.244.73
but nothing loaded via a webpage. Quite often broadband ISP's will block port 80 and others so you may need to have your webserver listen on another port.

Make sure that your router/firewall/whatever has a hole punched for that port else no traffic will move.

Thanks for the report, yours is cycling at this time so you must be working on the problem. I'll keep the client going and watch for success.
