I was doing a frequency search using the coordinate search method and I tried 4 miles and then 2 miles and I keep getting this message in the pic. The Twitter feed mentions nothing of the sort, though the Twitter feed hasn't been updated since January.

Hummm.. is it under going system maintenance? Oh wait, it does clearly say "temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance."

Ill take a guess and say Yes it is down due to some sort of maintenance.
Well that was my one hard question for the day. Time to relax now, pat myself on the back for the excellent work and rest up for the next tough question of tomorrow.

LOL i do agree with you, it would be nice for a second source of info like twitter to confirm stuff like that.
But it could also be an issue they are trying to fix so not a scheduled maintenance issue and their priorities are probably just to get it back up and running. Hopefully its not a serious issue and its back up soon.

Okay, so entering a coordinate without N or W doesn't produce that page error and I get a result, albeit it's a result of nothing found which I find odd since the airport should have Info. for that 2 mile diameter. I've tried a couple locations even near a fire station and no results.

You're using decimal format, right? 40.12345 -80.12345

BINGO! I was using the wrong coordinate type. I was in JROTC and we learned about the Universal Transverse Mercator system, shooting a bearing and all that rot, but it's been a very long time. So apparently you need to use the d.ddd d.ddd system and not the one I was using which was, NS d.ddd EW d.ddd

So with that bit of Info. perhaps it would be prudent to add some verbiage there in that entry search box that all coordinates need to be in d.ddd d.ddd decimal format?

I guess I was using decimal format, but it also uses East and West.

So if you use the wrong coordinate the API throws an error. That may come across to a user that the system is broken or something. Especially when you see this above the search box:
Latitude (N)

Longitude (W)

Note the N and W.
