Not all sites are on line. Mahantango and Pillow are not up. The downtown Harrisburg site for the simulcast portion is not up yet. As far as system progress no agency is officially on the system. There are several people testing. Agencys won't be moving until system acceptance anticipated next spring.

Need some Help with a PRO-2096

Guys I need some help with my PRO-2096 and the new system in Dauphin County. I use the ARC96 software from Butel at the moment. I downloaded the system with the software and uploaded it to my 2096. the problem is that I hear nothing on my 2096. I also have a BC996T with software from Butel. I did the same thing with the 996T and I hear all sorts of traffic. I'm not sure what is wrong. Maybe the software is loading it wrong? If I tune the control channels I get the following:

Berry Mountain - nothing
Derry Township - "motor boat noise" at 92 to 94%
Ellendale - "motor boat noise" at 90 to 98%
Lykens - Nothing
Peters Mountain - Nothing
Simulcast - No noise at 56 to 76%
Sun Pipeline - "motor boat noise" at 88 to 92%
TMI - Nothing

I'm in Hershey.

Any Ideas?

I too have been having difficulty getting this to track using a Pro-96. Scan-Pa, what settings are you using? I was able to get it to track the York system without difficulty.

I am going to try to reload the system into both my 2096 and my PSR-600. I have been disappointed lately with what I am hearing from the system, especially since some county and city units are using the new radio hardware already.

I don't quite understand this system. Which talkgroup would I want to listen to if I want to hear the talkgroup that Lower Paxton is on?
Thank you for your support.

Are you looking for Lower Paxton Fire? PD? Township employees?

If you are looking for the private township channel, it is not listed see on the database, mostly only patch TG have been set up between the old and new systems. You can listen to all of Dauph Co PD units by programming the PD talkgroups.

Patience...it isn't running yet, so you are better off still using the old analog system.

Ok. I am ordering the pro-106. My local stores don't stock them, but I can still get it for 399 by them shipping it to the store.

I am struggling with my 2096 on this system. I have tried 2 or three different sites, using all frequencies, not just the CC. I am getting decent signal on the sites I am trying (primarily the Simulcast and Ellendale), but when I am scanning, a VC frequency keeps popping up every few seconds...no sound...nothing. I do not have this problem with my PSR-600...there must be something odd about the way this is programmed...

We were able to figure out the 2096 vs. York County P25...let's see if we can solve this one...

I get a 90-99% decode rate on the simulcast from my house. I am receiving blue mtn and chambers hill. However, the audio IS horrendous. When I am out on Derry St at the base of Chambers Hill, the audio is almost as good as york's.

I don't know the fix, but I do have similar problems.

Anyone who can help me with this? I am still getting no voice on Dauphin system on the 2096. I can pick up fine on my 600 (have not tested at this location).

I am getting 90-96% on the CC, but just the VC frequency. Odd...

Still searching for the Holy Grail...a 2096 file that picks up Dauphin system.

Still cannot get this tweaked right for it to work...

Sigh...perhaps I can sell the 2096 and get a PSR-600...

I will set up the 2096 and 600 side by side tonight to see if I get anything. The 600 has been quiet of late as well. Will also check with a few contacts at DEMA to see what the word is...

I know that there are units still using the new radios for primary communication....

I imported the York and Dauphin systems again last night into the 600...

This time, I brought all frequencies for all sites...

Now York is sporadic and Dauphin cannot even find a tower in Lower Paxton...back to the drawing board...

Correction...apparently although I selected all of the frequencies, they did not all import. So I did some manual entry this morning and now York is much better. Dauphin is finding Derry and Ellendale sites.

Odd side note...anyone ever manually program their PSR-600? Why am I only able to enter 32 manual frequencies on a system?
