Well, I can hear all the fire and ems on the regular towers but I can't hear the police. I can live with that, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything more that I'm not aware of.

So.... Its May 24th and I still can't the Dauphin System to load on the Pro-2096..... Anyone able to fix this yet? I have been going through the tables and everything else I can think of and still can't load the system.

Its just frustrating that this is the only System that I can't pick up.

Maybe its time to buy a new communications receiver (SIGH.....)

Same here. Tried lots of combination to no avail. Perhaps someone from York County is interested in buying our 2096s, since they work great for York...

Again.... Please Help

I have my Pro-96 set up with all the control channels for Dauphin Co. ,Base freq is set to 500.000 Offset set at 12288,step set to 5.00 KHz and in Normal mode . I get tg ids but no sound. What is wrong with the settings ? I have been trying to get this system set up for some time now and don't understand what is wrong. I have York Pa and Washington Co. Md working alright. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks Mark

I have a question. How many channels are encrypted on the Dauphin system? I am trying to justify purchasing the 996xt and I would program to get Dauphin since my g/f lives there. So I am curious what is encrypted. I believe the police dispatch is, but are the TAC channels encrypted? what about Fire/EMS dispatch?

Dauphin County fire dispatch and all of the ops channel are not encrypted. EMS dispatch talk group is not, but their ops channels are.

Dauphin County fire dispatch and all of the ops channel are not encrypted. EMS dispatch talk group is not, but their ops channels are.

Over in the database it shows this for the dauphin system:

"Law Enforcement Talkgroups

Encrypted talkgroups have strapped (non-selectable) encryption."

Does that mean there are NO encryption for PD?

Although were it says mode, Some of them say encrypted still.

So should I program in the encrypted ones?

With the EMS it says Ops are encrypted however, Interops are NOT encrypted.

For Municipal Government Talkgroups
They are all listed as Mode D for digital so they are not encrypted.

That note means that the end user does not have the option to turn on and off the encryption. The encryption is set in the radio programming to be full time on all the encrypted police, ems, and other talkgroups. If the talkgroup is listed as "E" (encrypted) in the database, it is there for informational purposes since you cannot listen to it.

I am having alot of what appears to be simulcast interference(garbled audio and echo) on all Dauphin county talk groups on my pro 106. I have it programmed for all sites all freqs. Have messed with the multisite options to no avail. Will removing the simulcast site from the programming do anything to remedy this and will I still recieve all communications?

Had a couple of chances to listen to the new Dauphin County system this past week, sounds really great other than alot of good comms being enc.

Does anyone have a good list of actual primary and alternate CCs for each site? The DB has some listed but I don't think that list is 100% accurate. It's be nice to have a good list, that way all the prim and alt CCs will fit into the Pro-106 in one system for good multi-site operations.

I wasn't too familiar with Dauphin County's geography (outside of Harrisburg) so I created a map of the tower sites using bing maps. If anyone's interested, PM me.

From monitoring the system for awhile now the CC listing in the DB seem to be accurate. Have the system programmed as CC and Alt only all sites so it fits in one TSYS on the 106 and seem to be fine. I am most of the time however monitoring just fire. Now if I could just do something about this dam simulcast multipath distortion, short of moving from my house which lucky me is basically smack dab in the middle of the simulcast system towers.....Go a few miles one way or other audio's fine...here quite sketchy at times

I do not know how close you are to the northern end of Dauphin County, but the DC P25 dispatch channels for fire, ems, and pd are being simulcast on 156.100 and 462.600 up here.

Don't know who it maintaining these "simulcasts" but neither frequency is licensed for such use. The 462.600mhz frequency is a GMRS channel and 156.100mhz is a marine VHF frequency.

The simulcast did sound edgy while we were in downtown Harrisburg.

Some sites have multiple primary CCs listen, none have alternates. One site has no control channel listed.

Cap I hope since you posted that on here that your info is correct about being licensed properly cause I know when dauphin county first released info about the system, its probly still on county website, it says no rebroadcast or simulcasts permittied. Also didnt know that was an allowed use on those types of freqs (GMRS and Marine). Im no FCC agent or anything and would hate to hear that you guys lost the convienience of the simulcasts, so might be a good idea to keep info like that on the DL.

nester17109, I understand your concern. I think for all it would be best that I remove that information, even though it is my understanding that everything is proper.

If I could get a moderator to remove my earlier post #173 please.

Should be Mot 9600 Custom Table mode not Normal Mode. If in doubt manual stop in the bank -
PGM TRUNK FUNC 4.

Pro96Com was created to find the base/step/offset for the PRO-96/2096. If you can program with software you only need to download the program and follow the directions to get it to run.
