Has anybody heard any TRBO activity for any of the schools in Dauphin county? Milton Hershey, Derry Twp, and Central Dauphin all have licenses for multiple dmr repeaters. All of them send out periodic bursts but I have yet to hear any voice coms. I hope to figure these out before school lets out shortly.

Milton s. Hershey school is dmr single site capacity plus, but i have not heard any traffic as of yet.

Twister, can u run Unitrunker on the 9 freqs for Milton Hershey School please?

I found 3 more freqs in the FCC database, so now have a total of 9, and am now wondering if they are 3 sites of 3 freqs each?

Derry Twp. SD is using CC 1 so far on 461.5125 and it is the School Buses.

Unfortunately Unitrunker only tells me if the signal is DMR or not. I'm pretty sure I can't get any of the LCN info from that program. DSD+ isn't much help either when it comes to Cap+.

Last night I heard some chatter on one of the frequencies for Milton Hershey (also it looks like it's a few sites). TG 3 had secure comms on it for a few minutes. One radio ID had basic privacy and the other had enhanced encryption. I'm not sure how a basic encryption unit (basically a voice scrambler) can communicate with the true encryption of enhanced privacy (40 bit, albeit).

I've been hearing the bursts of Derry Twp and Milton Hershey for quite some time but have not tried to determine exactly what the set up is. Central Dauphin appears to be just simple repeaters on Blue Mountain, Chambers Hill, Swatara, and maybe the admin building. All of those repeaters send out a 5 second ish burst at the exact same time.

I wish information was widely available in Central PA. It has been hard to get information on school communications in Centre County. Anyone able to help me?

I am currently sniffing out the Derry Twp School District system. Here is what I found:

Callsign: WQNW234

Location: 30 E Granada Street at the Derry Township School District Admin Building

Freqs:

452.250MHz 1,2 (confirmed)
461.5125MHz 3,4 (confirmed)
463.6375MHz 5,6 (speculated)

The weird thing is both 452.250 and 461.5125 are acting as rest channels. I didn't know there could be two rest channels. I heard some activity this morning. 122 was in a private call with 154. Also, 129 keyed up the TG 2.

I'm working on Milton Hershey next. Right now I have 5 freqs that I'm searching for LCN info. My current location might be too far so I'm going to run to the Hotel Hershey hill and try to figure out what signals are coming from what locations. So far, everything I've encountered on these frequencies has been encrypted.

Update: as I was typing this, I heard maintenance on TG 4, coming out of both 461.5625 AND 461.8625, suggesting multiple sites, as indicated by the license.

Seems for cc 1 on MSH there are only 2 freqs for that site. I have all the freqs set to cc 3 to see how many hits i get.

Bad news...did a little more research. HACC is licensed for these same two freqs that I heard the traffic on. So I'll have to sit in Hershey to confirm that this is coming from Milton Hershey and not HACC.

461.5625, TG 4 talked about Founders Hall, so definitely Milton Hershey.

Ok no other hits for MSH school 464.2375 under cc 3, the user on there seems to be a trash company, alot of talk about trash and recycling bins.. ugh..

ok so MSH Frequency 464.23750 CC 3 is not the school. it is York County WQOT822 (Triangle Communications, Inc.) so no CC 3 on the school DMR system.

Explains the zero hits on the other 8 frequencies under CC 3

Site 2 & 4 seem to have the same 5 freqs Did u get a CC besides 1?

Site 5 & 6 are 2 freq sites

SO far with whatever site 2 or 4 with CC 1 and 463.21250 as LCN 1, and 461.56250 as LCN 2 I have heard conversations on TG 1, TG 4, TG 5, TG 6

DTSD is trunking fine with the lcn order, i also have heard buses, school maint. School nurse, and the office calling a teacher or councillor.

LCN 3 slot 5/6 confirmed on 463.63750 for DTSD DMR. so that system is in the DB. tg 1 - 15 heard so far, some in the clear and some ENC.

I also posted the MHS DMR into the DB, The LCN 1 and 2 for site 2 are confirmed and in the DB.

again some clear voice and ENC voice on the 6 or so TG. Have heard, Admin, Maint. Buses.

Everyone, please submit any information so we can update these systems.

And please submit or start a topic for any other DMR system that you find.

DMR systems are spreading like wildfire. Replacing Conventional, LTR, EDACS and other out of Date TRS.
