On Dec. 23, 2011 Weber County Dispatch had a glitch with their phone lines. According to dispatch they could not receive any incoming calls. All dispatch activities were transferred to Davis Co. Ops Center for several hours. There may have been a couple of Weber County Dispatchers who also went to Davis to assist them.

During this time there was a tg 9411 which suddenly appeared and is not listed in the db. (for obvious reasons - 9411 is a little difficult to program in hex)

The voice traffic on this tg has been consistent throughout yesterday and into today - including dispatch of UHP units on duty in the area. It appears this may have taken the place of tg 9440?

Any other observers of this?

9411 is 9408 Davis Law 1 with three status bits for a patch to another TG. This is done from the dispatch console. In this case, the dispatcher patched 9408 and 9440 together.

Try setting your scanner to 'ignore' status bits unless you like knowing when patches are used. Check this link for more info: Motorola Type II Smartnet - The RadioReference Wiki

Thanks for pointing out how complicated this stuff really is.....LOL

Followed by a link to explain the complications - I hope Santa can bring less
complicated stuff than this......LOL

So if I interpret this info correctly a dispatcher at a console in say "St. George" could patch to dispatch and receive voice traffic
on a tg in "Brigham City" without the person on the mobile radio even knowing they are not talking to the local dispatch?
