I wonder if that article is from last year. It says the event was held at the Hara Arena in Dayton.

I am pretty sure the 2017 Hamvention is being held at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia.

CB? No thanks. rather they did VHF/UHF Ham radio with scanner...
One reason I like my FTM-400DR Yaesu dual band.
I can scan mobile VHF/UHF receive many open AM/FM/NFM freqs on B band while still transmitting/receiving Ham on A band.
