Have both a Uniden BC296D and a Radio Shack Pr0-96 scanner and wondering if you can enter control freqs from other areas in the same bank.

Interested in setting up scanner for Dayton Post, Lebanon Post, Butler Post and Hamilton Post on scanner with Talk Group ID's. Will this setup have to use 4 seperate banks for each post?

Should I program the primary freqs and alternate freqs or all of the freqs for each post?

I am new to using the Marcs trunking system and would appreciate any help that can be given to set this up.

Get Hamilton County SO good. My Pro-96 does much better recieving the digital than my Uniden BC296D.

If you are going to listen to Marcs, you do not have to program 4 different banks. If you program the cc for the Marcs in your area, it will pick up anything that is on that site.

Thanks Mark, I am going to set it up yet to night. I use a great program to program my Pr0-96. Win96 , Starsoft software by Don Star.

Tried Scancat lite & gold but not my favorite.

Thanks again for the info.

One other thing Mark, are you using a closed bank with Talk Group ID's or do you have to keep the bank open with the low band freqs.

Open bank. In case new talkgroups pop up.
I include only the low band OSP TAC channels as there
is still activity on them on occasion. The old VHF Low and High
band Base and Car freqs have been silent since December.

Mark,

Would I be able to use your same format in my 250D??

Rob

I am not that familar with the 250D. I don't know whether it will work
with only the control channels programmed in which is the way my set up is.
Perhaps someone else can chime in here on that.

Mark,

Your set up works great. I have been listing at home and everything I was looking for is there. I work in Sharonville and drive from the Burg. Listen to West Chester, Warren and Butler County and while down in Sharonville I listen to Hamilton County.

It really helps staying out of some traffic jams.

I will be going down to my cabin in Scioto County in 2 weeks and looking forward to setting things up in another bank for that area.

Rob, I have a Uniden BC296D which is basically the same as your BC250 with digital added. I tried the same setup as Mark has on the Pro96 and it doesn't work. I need to play with this combination and maybe work it out.
