Today is the DC 50th Anniversary of the March On Washington by MLK on 8-28-1963.

I will be monitoring and updating with any channels being used.

0900 - Noticed the USPP Helicopter flying around the SW & SE part of DC
1118 - DC EMA using P25 Talkgroup 2117. DC UCC3 on P25 Talkgroup 2341 is active.

Are the P25 talkgroups on the DC 800 system or the new 700Mhz system?

Thanks for reporting!

Dave,

I used your little list of finds you had on Saturday. For the most part most of the same talkgroups and freqs were being used.

On the JNCR TRS the 2145 Encrypted talkgroup has been active lately from the tower I hit off while at work near the Washington Navy Yard. It us usually pretty active on weekdays and has been 100% ENC all the time. I am still trying to figure out what talkgroup the Marines use at the 8th & I Marine Barracks.

If you were able to capture the radio IDs on the encrypted talkgroups it could shed some light on who the user *might* be

How can you tell who the user is based on the radio IDs? I am going to set up my PSR-500 and run pro96com on it and hopefully get some radio IDs.

I have attached a quick data capture I just ran with pro96com.

I believe the Marines are using the talkgroup 22844. Could also be 22839.

Hmmm never have I seen talkgroup 496.

Didn't see any 2145 entry there but all those 6 digit IDs you see are part of JNCR systems. The Radio IDs help map the system out, there are obviously exceptions, but they largely follow a pattern for example,

201 Pentagon PFPA uses Radio ID range 201XXX
700 Fort Meade MP uses Radio ID range 700XXX
22501 Naval Academy MP uses Radio ID range 2170XXX and 2150XXX

Also the 7 digit stuff are part of a newer scheme, you will see more and more of those in newer systems.
