Has the DE National Guard been conducting all comms on the 800 trunked system....or do they routinely utilize some non-800 radios, as well? Here in MD, Nat Guard uses 138-139 MHZ freqs primarily.... I'd assume the DE vehicles are similarly equipped w/ the usual military radios.....just unsure if the VHF comms are active in DE.

Thanks much.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Dave,
Since I just purchased the Pro-96 a few weeks ago I cannot comment comfortably on DENG on 800 Mhz, but I will say I have heard nothing that I could identify from them in that time.

Previous to the Pro I have had scanners for years and have never heard much from them on their VHF channels. During Gulf War One I spent a large amount of time at DENG HQ running phone patch and sitting right next to a radio for their VHF system and heard very little from them.

They have a VHF repeater system in the state which Army Mars installed and maintains the output I believe is 148.10. If you interested in that freq. let me know and I will get it for you.

Rich,

Thanks a lot. If you have any VHF DeNG freqs, I'd appreciate them.

Take care.

Dave,
Here are the frequencies for the Mars Repeaters in Delaware. These were installed in the pre-trunked days to allow Delaware NG as the primary user, and Delaware Army Mars as a secondary user to be able to communicate throughout the state. The repeaters have been upgraded in the last year or two and locations changed.

These are the freqs

The Harrington repeater is 143.40/148.75.

STARC is 143.975 / 148.025.

STARC is the HQ in New Castle Co. and it's located at the intersection of Milltown and Limestone Roads in the old Laura Little school.

FYI, there are FOUR Army MARS VHF repeaters in Delaware. We also have equipment in Georgetown and Dagsboro. The DE National Guard bought us new MTR2000 repeaters for Y2K, as we built the only non-800 MHz repeater network for a State agency (everyone else went 800 MHz trunked, as you know). Each Armory/Readiness Center has a package of VHF mobiles and portables on the network. We even bought 24 VDC converters for the Humvees.

In addition, we have a Regional 1200 bps VHF Packet network still in very active use.

PS I'm the guy who maintains the network.

Hello John,

The MARS repeater system has come along way since the first installment to say the least.
