Dead cigarette lighter after 1 week!!!

I bought a BCT15 last week and today the cigarette lighter adapter is dead. The unit still works fine with the ac adapter so i know its not the unit. I see uniden has these on backorder. Is this a common problem? What do I do?

Check the fuse in the inline fuse holder? Sometimes there is a fuse in the cig plug itself too (unscrew to check).
