I'm not really sure how the applications and grants work, but I would doubt that it's coming from Deal. The receipt date on the application is January 20, and there's no indication of a license being granted, so I wouldn't think that Deal would be using or would be capable of using the frequency even in a test mode just yet. You may be getting a signal from somewhere else or maybe even bleedover, if possible, from another digital frequency if, in fact, you are actually hearing digital.

They've been using the new frequency for a few days now and so far everything I've heard has been digital encrypted. They were testing, not encrypted, for a couple of days before this, but now everything is scrambled. Unbelievable! A 1 and 1/4 mile square town with virtually no crime. Motor vehicle stops constitute the majority of the activity, and they see the need to encrypt. BTW, I wouldn't delete the old VHF frequency from my scanner just yet. That was/is also used for EMS comms with the PD after dispatch and I don't know if the EMS rigs have capabilities on the new frequency.

Deal has taken over police dispatching responsibilities for Interlaken PD. Interlaken is being dispatched on the old Deal VHF frequency, 155.430 PL 131.8. As far as I know, FD and EMS are still covered by Allenhurst.
