Dealer recommendations?

I've seen posts recently of folks saying 'just find your nearest dealer', which is great - but for some reason I've gotten silence back. From both the dealer that sold me my radio a few years ago, and my 'local' (in-state) dealer.

I'd rather not waste my time an send out a million emails to all the advertised Kenwood dealers, I figure I'd also better trust a company that one of ya'll more experienced folks have used in the past.

In case it matters or not - just needing a couple option licenses and a replacement battery or two for my 5200K3 (and maybe a FW upgrade..)

Kenwood LMR dealers usually serve specific regions, so it may take some work to either find one that is local to you, or find one that is willing to work outside the region.

Kenwood has a dealer finder on their website:

Please contact your Regional Manufacturer's Representative, which is listed in the Dealer/Service Locator, for assistance finding the local KENWOOD authorized dealer that can best meet your requirements.

That often comes up with the local factory rep, not the dealer. For you, it's:

Call the factory rep above, and they should tell you who the local/regional dealers are.

Locally, I use Silke Communications, but they may not be able to help you since you are outside their area. Different dealers may or may not be the same.

I will try calling them. Hadn't thought of contacting Kenwood directly. The company that I bought my two radios from wasn't in 'my area', and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt- maybe they can't help anymore.

It's a manufacturers rep, not Kenwood itself. They should be able to point you to a specific dealer in your area.

The company that I bought my two radios from wasn't in 'my area', and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt- maybe they can't help anymore.

I don't think Kenwood enforces it, at least not that I've seen. Dealer responses seem to vary depending on the size of the customer.

I have purchased Kenwood accessories and software from American Communications in New York. They appear to be an authorized Kenwood dealer. They may not be able to sell you certain items as defined by Kenwood's dealer agreement. IOW, you may be able to get your battery packs from them, but they may not be able to sell you option licenses. Buy Kenwood Original Two-Way Radios, Accessories and Parts

Gave them a call, really nice guy, appreciate that. Gave me contact info for a company in Denver. Called them, the rep i was told to ask for was busy, and was told to email in. We'll see if they get back to me. I have higher hopes than I do with the initial two companies I tried to contact!

Thanks, appreciate it! In the end for me, it doesn't matter if I have to split my order up (and nowadays, shipping costs don't really vary much between sending it from 100 miles away, to sending it across the country) - obviously it'd be easier to make one payment on it all, but I'll take what I can get.
