anyone know when decatur and grady co in southwest georgia going to a digital radio system it should be getting close.being a firefighter would be nice to know when the transiton begins.
I wrote that news article and the quick answer is that the new digital system has been tested but isn't live yet. Motorola had to go back and do further upgrades on the tower equipment and that's pushed the completion date into next spring. Meanwhile, the old analog system still works for Grady and Decatur counties.
I am listening to Decatur and Grady County from across the line in Havana, FL. I am using my BCD996xt and GRE PSR600. The frequencies are the same, you just have to have a digital scanner to listen now. Here is what I have submitted so far to RR.
Decatur County Update
Frequency | Tone | Alpha Tag | Mode
---------------------------------------------
155.9550 | 179 NAC | DCSO Disp | P25 NFM
154.1450 | 179 NAC | DCFD Disp | P25 NFM
155.1150 | 179 NAC | DCEMS Disp | P25 NFM
155.9550 | 115 DPL | DCBOE555 | NFM
158.7750 | 179 NAC | BPD Disp | P25 NFM
160.0800 | 179.9 PL | Public Works | NFM
Grady County Update
Frequency | Tone | Alpha Tag | Mode
---------------------------------------------
153.0800 | 179 NAC | GCSO Disp | P25 NFM
155.4000 | 179 NAC | GCEMS Disp | P25 NFM
155.4150 | 179 NAC | GCFD Disp | P25 NFM
155.5500 | 179 NAC | CPD Dispatch | P25 NFM
Grady Fire is 154.415, not 155.415
My mistake on the frequency. I'll make sure RR corrects my mistake.
Do you have any other frequencies that I can plug in to my scanner for Decatur, Seminole or Grady County that are not listed on this site?
Drove through Cairo today, following the storm front, and heard Cairo PD and Grady SO on their "old" frequencies in analog. No trees must have been harmed during the storm, as I didn't hear anything from Cairo Fire or Grady County Fire ...... and I was trying (in analog and P25).
