Decoding sound

Hello, I am trying to find out what the siren tone is for my department and 2 others. I do know the pager tones but do not know how to figure out the siren tones. I think it is a DTMF tone," sounds like a phone dialing numbers" I will email a recording if someone can help. Thank

Why not use something like the freeware Audacity or get Wintone from this page to measure them? Seems like this problem is straightforward enough... 73 Mike

I tried audacity and cant figure out the DTMF "numbers". I will try wintone. Any help would be appreciated. I use ct2tone but it does not do the fast dial tones. Just downloaded the wintone and it states my trial is up. I was tring not to have to buy a program unless I know it works. Any insight?

I have used wintone, it takes some fine tuning. Make sure you adjust the input audio levels of your sound card. I would use line in.

Thanks for the info. I actually got a free program for decoding dtmf and it works great. DTMF Decoder / Encoder is the site.
