Jim is correct, Arapahoe County Sheriff dispatches for Deer Trail and Byers. Deer Trail is very unique because they don't receive tones. ACSO initiates a party-line telephone call to all of the volunteers who will pick up the phone and advise of their availability. Once they respond to the call they'll usually stay on ACSO 1, Talkgroup 3001. Occasionally they'll be on Talkgroup 3071 & 3072.

Why do they do this? Do they not have radios?

I guess it could work for a small department. It does seem odd they would work on Arapahoe SO 1 though.

ACSO is pretty busy on a regular basis so I'm guessing it's easier for their dispatcher to monitor one channel instead of two. Command can talk on ACSO 1 and they can use one of the Arapahoe East FD talkgroups for their fireground communication if needed.
