Dekalb Co. going turbo?

I heard today that Dekalb co may be going TRBO. I dont know how to look up the licensing through the FCC to find out on my own. I know they have been doing ALOT of test the last couple weeks. Could they be upgrading to be with White and Putnam counties mutual aid?

They have some new frequencies that they registered on 7-7-14 but the emission designator 11K2F3E that is listed for them is analog transmission with a callsign of KGJ855. Frequencies that are listed 154.755 155.370 155.685 154.710 156.015 158.910 Hope this will help you.

Ok thanks. Thats what I needed to know. With so many agencies going trbo around here, i had to make sure. I guess one of these days I'll wind up buying one of the new Vertex everge just to get some of my monitoring back. Everywhere you look lately, someone else has switched.

154.755 LETS VHF, 155.3700 Nationwide Intercity, 155.685, and 154.7100 would be best bets to monitor. I will take a look at the license and see which is repeater etc... Looks like probably just reup of freqs to narrowband.

A good radio for receiving/scanning DMR directly is the CS700 or CS701 available at Untitled Document for about $200, including software and cable. You have to know the Color Code, Time Slot, and Group ID for each channel, however, to program the radios, not to mention to INHIBIT transmit! On trunked systems simply scan all the system channels--won't be like a regular scanner, but something is better than nothing (unless it's encrypted).

Don't know the CC,TS,GID? Then tap a receiver and run DMRdecode on your PC or DSD+.

What all is needed to run dmrdecode? I only have a laptop with window home 7 and a vx7r. If a scanner is needed, thhen i guess im out. There is a thread containing all of putnam co. info, by the guy running the system i think, but white co may be a different story.

None for this year. All licenses are analog narrowband. Maybe in a couple of years they will go digital, but currently there is no switch happening. They are getting new radios that are digital capable and new paging system, as well as new system monitoring gear.
