I'd like to program DeKalb Co. Public Safety trunked radio system and Stone Mountain Park Trunked radio system into the same bank of my PRO-96. I'd separate the 2 sets of control channels by conventional channels in FM mode so it scan each TRS on each pass through the bank.

My question is about which talkgroup blocks are used in each system. It appears that most if not all of the Type II talkgroup on the DeKalb Co. TRS are in Block 3, which I would of course program as S0.

Can I program the other blocks with the size codes specified for the Stone Mountain TRS and not screw up my settings for DeKalb Co? I'm not so concerned about DeKalb Co. DPW talkgroups, which seem to be the only ones that are Type I anymore.

I guess the question boils down to, are there any blocks that are active on both the Stone Mountain TRS and the DeKalb Co. TRS that might interfere with each other?

Thanks in advance.

Brian,

Since you are not interested in PW, you can ignore the single Stone Mountain block 0 ID (100-6) listed in the De Kalb database. All type I listings in database for Stone Mountain are in blocks 06 and 07 and Stone Mountain has the single type II listing, 00048. All ID's from the De Kalb page you intend to use will be type II.

1. Set the fleetmap to 00 00 00 00 00 00 04 04.
2. Program all desired talkgroups into the sub-banks in the correct format.
3. Scan Closed Mode only.

Thanks fmon, that's what I was thinking also, but I don't deal often with fleetmaps and I wanted to make sure I was correct in my approach.

Not many type I systems around any more. You can scan Open Mode, but some of the ID's may be confusing. It appears De Kalb is upgrading as they can budget new radios for procurement.
