• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I have a radio shack pro-94 and have just found out that delaware county and city have switched radio systems. It looks like they went to to apco 25 im pretty sure. Will I need a different scanner to monitor them?? If so what is a good one?

I was in Delaware County over the weekend. The new system was loud and clear on the PRO 96. Earlier observations in this column preferred the PRO 96 over the 796 for clarity. Franklin County comes in strong in the northern suburbs with the new Polaris repeater.

Note: RadioReference had the wrong freqs listed as Control Channels in the database. There are only a few freqs in the system so enter them all. One of them will be thr right CC for the day.
