DELAWARE COUNTY TWP. POLICE

Hi,

On this database there is an entry for delaware county that says:

154.81500 155.91000 DELCO POLICE County Sheriff F5 (local police)


What is this frequency used for? Is it to dispatch township police? If anyone knows what this channel is used for please tell me.

First of all theres no township police in the state of Ohio. There either State or County. Village or city!! The county is still on the old freqs but the city is 800 trunked. Both freqs you have listed are on my old list for Delaware from 15 yrs ago. There are a couple new ones Im hearing in the Del area, that I suspect are in the area!! 155.0100 and 155.050!!

How do you explain Sharon Twp FD in Franklin County, and all of the other Township PDs all over the state?

City cops in an exploded populus area!! Townships dont have the money to have much of anything!!

To answer the origional question:
Delaware County Sheriff contracts to several town and township police departments for dispatching. Places like Sunbury, Shawnee Hills, Genoa Township, etc... pay the county for dispatching. This is a common practice. In some areas, there are even private organizations that compete for dispatching contracts.
