Sector 6 is apparently in use by Upper Darby (as I just heard mentioned on a comm. today) but I don't see freqs in the RR database! Anybody?

Also the database page highlights pennsylvania as being recently updated and then drilling down it lists Delaware county is highlighted as being updated but when I get to the list, all the freqs. in column one are the same highlighted color!?? How can I tell what's been updated?!?!? Drives me nuts. Somebody, please explain!??

Thanks,

Andy

When I looked at the Delco page, the latest update was the addition of casino frequencies for Chester Downs.

There is also a History tab you can click on to see what was most recently added or changed.

Upper Darby has been known as Sector 6 for some time. You might want to keep an ear on 501.325 which is a new repeater recently put in service. 501.675 is another new repeater, also.

Thanks. I didn't know.

Thanks for sharing THAT magic!!! I would have noticed eventually. Honest! ;)

I was expecting a color coded clue-in at the frequency level. :(

I vaguely remember Sector 6 from years gone by.

I have the 501.325 loaded as part of the APCO/ANALog Delco tac (pun!). I'll add the 501.675 and see if it lights up!

All the best,

Andy

I know 501.675 is the repeater for UDPD F-1 (dispatch only), but what does 501.325 repeat? As best as I can recall, the 501.325 was a county-wide repeater for special ops, unless that recently changed (haven't been into DelCo at all this year).

Also, I know Millbourne PD (78 units) are also dispatched on Sector 6, though I don't recall ever hearing their identifiers.

Have you ever been to Millbourne? It's like two blocks long. The place is about 0.1 square mile in area. Interestingly, though, it is the most densely poulated municipality in all of Pensylvania because is squeezes in about 1000 people in that little area (the figure comes out to about 13,000 people per square mile). Some Delco trivia for ya.

When you only have a cop or two on duty, they don't usually have a lot to say on the radio. I think there is only one full time officer and a few part time. If somebody else knows the right number of police, chime in.

I guess its only a matter of time before UDPD gets new UHF radios to get in line with the rest of Delaware County...

I beleive the UDPD K-9 units have UHF radios since I heard one on Sector 4 last month assisting one of the 40 series cars.

UDPD onUHF

Here is a tidbit, SEPTA PD are 22 cars on UDPD radio. The car has a mobile radio in it and some of the SEPTA PD have UD portables for working at the 69th St terminal.

City of Chester has or had the same setup with SEPTA PD units 22-21 or 22-29 on Sector 3 working in the area of the Chester Transportation Center.

SEPTA often had/has (don't know what the current arrangement is) a K-9 unit assigned to Chester TC, primarily to assist Chester City PD. I saw this about 3-4 years ago, and I'm not sure if that's the case today.

And yes, some of the SEPTA PD cars do have UDPD mobiles in some of their cars assigned to 69 St. In listening to SEPTA PD (mostly for PPD J-Band), I can also note that dispatch at 1234 Market can pick up UDPD pretty clearly and their distinctive DMTF(?) tones at the end of most xmits.

Of course, if this is in fact the end of VHF for Upper Darby, and they are in fact migrating over to county UHF freqs, then those VHF radios are going to be obsolete I would think...

SEPTA PD K9 In Chester Term.

SEPTA took out the K9 2 years ago. The company felt the officer/ calls did not justify the dog. Dogs are used system wide are part of the SORT teams. Special Operations Response Team. I have used SORT many times to help out in the terminal when I work there in Upper Darby.

So SEPTA PD can access the UHF patch? I never heard SEPTA PD on the UDPD VHF freq, when I heard calls at the 69th St. Terminal SEPTA PD was alway's contacted by DELCOM by telephone. I know the UDFD Command used to have access to the police channel but it seems like there ID's are now used as east patrol cars now (7911-14) and the UD Dept. of health - Animal Control (7978-79), I seen the UD Parking Enforcment with portables but never heard there ID's on the air.

I been hearing a new ID on the UDFD VHF (Upper Darby 11) I'm guessing that's the on duty deputy chief kinda like Chester's shift battalion Chief (Chester 11).
