Local paper has an emergency drill scheduled for Dover Downs racetrack this coming Saturday 9am-1pm.
One of the largest simulated evacuations with 1500 evacuees.
Conducted with Track, local,State and Federal authorities.
May be good time to tune into Kent,Dover and Statewide systems.
I assume Delaware National Guard talkgroups could be busy also as well as some rare talkgroups.
Local traffic congestion also predicted...

Dover International Speedway

We are still in need of victims for the exercise. The victims will actually be moulaged (make-up simulating trauma injuries). They will be treated like real patients and approximately 25% (out of 100) will actually be transported to KGH. The others will be transported to a simulated hospital elsewhere on the property.

In addition, many of these victims will be decontaminated. This means they will get wet and remove outer garments. Victims will need to wear a bathing suit underneath and their outer garments will be removed during decon. All clothing will be bagged, tagged and returned to the individuals. Once decontaminated they will be "redressed" in disposable clothing. Therefore, the victims will need to wear a bathing suit, cloths they do not mind getting wet and probably bring a dry change of clothes. Victims should refrain from wearing jewelry etc.

Hello,

I will be in Dover over the weekend so I should catch plenty of activity. May hear some TG's rarely used (DEMA).

Any interesting observations regarding the drill?

I was just a bit North of Dover during the morning....caught much of it........ Anyone closer to the site copy any on-scene, simplex 800 MHZ activity? I-CALL or the I-TACS? Was surprised that there was not a test of TG dynamic regrouping. Any new TGs identified?

Hello,

Most of the comms were on SW-EMS, and Fire Company Channels. I noticed no ITACs or rarely used TG's were used during the drill. However, it was insisted no cellphones be used during the exersize. The weather may have affected parts of the drill.

Yep....and a lot of command post chatter on Kent Mutual Aid 1 & 2, as would be expected. I didn't catch any comms on the Nat Guard TGs, nor did I hear any activity on the various DEMA TGs.....was there any? Found it interesting that units on the scene of an incident with suspected booby-trapped explosive packages were still transmitting in proximity....maybe this was addressed in the debriefing.

Hello,

No comms from DEMA or DNG. TMC was active during the exercise. I tried to drive by Dover Downs for close comms but an accident near the Mall which I heard on the radio caused me to take Route 1. I didn't see anything from the back. Most of the activity was inside and on the track itself. Here is a News Journal Article about the drill.

I caught a couple hours of coms mostly up here on 3824 SW EMS.
Show seemed to be run mostly off this talkgroup which is normal EMS
talkgroup for Dover Downs NASCAR races.

Fire seemed to group on K-TAC 5 and K-TAC 6.
Also heard DNREC on their usual talkgroup 16464.

I did hear coms about real emergency cold participants as rain and decon
drill had them chilled to the bone.DART busses moved in with heaters and blankets for those chilly participants.

All in all drill was geared towards a normal NASCAR race drill hence the lack of Del NG,DEMA etc.
I did hear ATF mentioned etc but no talkgroups heard. They could have been on their reg Fed band or just were tagging along with Track personnel.
