While in Northampton County the other day, I picked up digital comms on 168.475. Based on the traffic (law enforcement related) and the locations given, I figured this must be the DW Gap. When did they go digital?

Anyone have a current frequency list?

The NPS for the upper delaware river just recieved XTS5k's to replace the 3k, and has had Astro Spectra's for some time...but nothing digital yet up this way. I guess it could be soon.

Thanks for mentioning the 170.050 frequency. I actually found it while I was up in the Portland area again this week for work. I am just now checking back on the board here.

Both frequencies (170.05 and 168.475) appear to simulcast the same radio traffic. I was picking up comms on both frequencies with similar signal strengths from the Portland and Martin's Creek areas. Now and then, one or the other would break up.

As for the Upper Delaware Scenic River, which is a separate NPS entity from the Delaware Water Gap National Rec. Area, I found the following info in their annual report from last year:

Radios--The UPDE radio upgrade plan is being implemented. We received a total
of $525,000 to replace a 25-year-old, malfunctioning and seriously outdated
system. The Chief of Protection and Administrative staff worked with NERO, Motorola
and the local radio contractor to order equipment and services. Final
installation is expected in the spring of 2006.

The Protection Division continued to provide protection services with a staff
of six. Regardless, the division responded to numerous public safety incidents,
accidents, the April 3-4 flood, and TDY assistance to DEWA, wildland fire,
Katrina, and SEC. New leases were negotiated with American Towers for the Long Eddy
Radio Tower and with the Pennsylvania Game Commission for the Lackawaxen Radio
Tower.

Maps and boundary info for the two parks can be found here:
