Just wondering if someone can clear something up for me.

On my scanner (Undien -BCD996XT) while im listening i find sometimes after a transmission someone is just about to respond and my scanner takes off to the next site (on fleetnet) before they get a chance to answer. So if im not quick enough to hit hold and I hear something intetersting I miss out.

So my question is do I want to adjust my Hold time or Delay Time?

From what I understand the Hold time is the amount of time the scanner sits on a site waiting FOR a transmission before moving onto the next site. And The Delay Time is the amount of time the scanner waits AFTER a transmission before moving onto the next site.

I just want to confirm that this is correct, and if so then I take it the scanner does not reset the Hold Time if there is a transmission or there would be no need for a Delay Time value.

Also does anyone else find the factory value for delay time (2 seconds I believe) to be to short? If so what do you set yours at?

Thanks again Everyone

Yes, you have the terms correct.

You want to increase the Delay time if you're missing the response.
