As others have pointed out, the only way to have your username deleted from the site database is to have Lindsay do it. Now, I understand you may have asked all the questions you have at this time, but as has been pointed out if you keep your ID, but remove your information from from the your proifle, the only way you could be contatacted is via PM and you can ignore them if you alter your profile to not be notified if a PM is pending. As to being emailed when someone replies to a thread you were acitve in, you can just choose to "Stop watching this thread for replys" at the bottom of each page of each thread or you can change your profile so that you are never notified when someone replies. If you do decide to stay and alter your profile, I would recommend that you retain the ability receive newsletters. They only come out 3 or 4 times a year and do contain information about the site.
Once again, if you decide to leave, you must contact Lindsay and I would recommend that you do it via PM or via the contact page that you can access via the Help link on the the Home page of the site.
