I had an old Dell 17" (Sq.) Monitor that was dead, I took the Stand Part off of it and Mounted my FT-8800 Remote Head on it.

I also mounted a Small BearCat (Amplified) Speaker on it

It makes a great way to hold it and be able to easily move it

It isn't.
It seems pretty stable - but only finished this AM

Hoping it will do ok this way - so I can easily get it in and out

Keep in mind that anything unsecured (and heavy) in your vehicle will become a missile in the event of an accident, or even evasive maneuvering. Better safe than sorry.

I do not use it much but I have liked it a LOT
Many times I (used to) have one side scanning Repeater Freq's and the other on some common LAW/EMS Freq'a or Aviation freq's

If I planned on leaving it in I would probable secure it.

By the way - I decided to mount the Monitor stand on a larger Aluminum Plate makes it much more stable.
It's apx 10" x 14".

Most likely I will be selling it before long as I really never use it now days

Good point though even on the floor if the Van was rolling over or whatever - it could be a problem!

If I decide to keep it I will either secure the plate or just mount the haed somewhere like the side of the Passenger seat base.
