I had heard p25 was coming but so far at MSP they have gone mototrbo on 800 and added a UHF LTR system.

So they 800 Type II system is turned off now?

I cannot tell if they are using their old frequencies. It sort of sounds like it though.

I flew out of MSP and noticed the gate agents using Mototrbo handhelds, when I got back in town I monitored the 800 mHz channels and still was receiving 800-analocg

Sound like they are back on TRBO. Could they have gone to analog as a failsoft?

I am guessing they had started to transition to TRBO, what I was hearing on 800 analog was maint related, did not hear anything related to gate operations. I am guessing Gates and Flight ops will be on the TRBO system and maint is on the UHF LTR system.
