It depends on the scanner, but the easiest way is with software for that scanner. (And a cable to connect the scanner to the computer.)

They aren't going to tell you how to program a scanner. (A lot of them have no idea how.)

I can't do anything to interrupt the police activity can I? :?

With a scanner? No. Not unless you turn the volume up too high right near a cop's ear.

If someone in the Denver area has a Pro-95 and has the Denver Public Safety system in it - perhaps he or she could meet up with Suni somewhere and clone her scanner to theirs.

This in my opinion would be the easiest way for Suni since she doesn't have the software and cable to program her scanner by computer and doesn't understand how to do it manually with the scanners keypad (who would want to !!).

ME :lol: It's a good way to learn how the scanner ticks. I will do my 396 with software when I get it, due to the Dynamic memory & THOUSANDS of talkgroups to enter with DTRS etc.

Jerry, it appears you have more patience than I do when it comes to such things and I applaud you for it !

I don't know how programming a Radio Shack scanner is by hand, but if it is anything like a Uniden, that's a headache I can surely do without !

OK, I guess it's time for the truth. I don't have the normal port in my pc, so I would need two cables to go from the USB to the 95. I'm just too darn poor to spend that amount of money, when I can do it by hand .

Have you thought about just buying a cheap serial port and putting it in your pc rather than buying the two cables that would seem to cost alot more?

The key word there is IN. I'm very good at taking things apart, but not so much with putting them back together .

6 talkgroup codes>>> Do I have to have those as well?
Just to listen to live activity in my area?
I put the 24 in~ But I believe that i may need to start over~Which I will do anyway~Pratice makes Perfect~They Say :wink:

You are in denver~ So you aware of how miserably (HOT) it has been for the Last 11-12 Days...Constantly :shock:
But with the Forum and Good Ol'Scan_Denver Working with us :wink:
We can and will figure it out.

I do Honestly believe that if everything did not come at Once..I would be doing alot better than I seem to be doing regarding programming this Darn Scanner. I consider myself Pretty Intelligent :wink:
