Does anyone else have this happen? Both my Pro 94 & 95 will stop on Denvers' EOC three (115/00-143) just for a second. This drives me nuts! I don't want to lock it out, because it's in my "always monitor bank".
I didn't get back in town until 1600 hrs, so I missed the meeting (bummer).
I hope someone post some info on how the meeting went!

EOC-3 is constantly linked to the State DTRS MAC-21, and this is what is keying the TG. Probably random users across the state clicking the PTT.

Scanner Buff Meeting At Aurora Fire Station 11 was very successful ! We had 9 scanner buffs show up, their names are listed below...

Bill Avery - Woodland Park, CO
Steve Bonner - Boulder, CO
Jordan Christiansen - Aurora, CO
Ed Jackson - Fort Collins, CO
Mike Kionka - Lakewood, CO
Rick Hansmann - Salina, KS
Tom Odell
Bill Oldsen - Denver, CO
Mark - Aurora, CO (radiohacker.com)

We had a meet and greet session as one by one we all showed up. Rick Hansmann and Bill Avery were the first on scene, then Bill Oldsen, and the rest trickled in one by one.

Of course we Jumped in with both feet and started talking shop, more appropriately... scanners. Steve Bonner who has a Boulder feed up and running brought his Pro-96 and his laptop computer and was showing all of us the pro96 software that he uses in conjunction with his scanner. It is amazing the functions the Pro-96 has compared to the Uniden line of scanners.

Mark of radiohacker.com/Aurora, CO and his friend Mike Kionka of Lakewood, CO were there providing all of us with info about state talkgroups, civil air patrol, and many others. It is nice to know there are knowledgeable scanner buffs out there with all the info !!!

The subject of Denver upgrading to ESK was talked about a little and the rumor mill has it that Denver may upgrade their radios when the re-banding of Nextel takes place around July time frame but no ETA on when or if Denver will actually utilize ESK in their communications system.

Steve Bonner and Bill Oldsen discussed sending alerts on instant messengers for our live feeds when an emergency event is taking place that we are monitoring and providing links to listen in on the action.

We all enjoyed talking to one another about this and that and we all agreed that we should have another such meeting in the near future. Hopefully we can get more scanner buffs to attend and have regular get togethers.

Thanks Bill / I hope I can make it to the next meeting. I put the June 11th Hamfest on my calendar, and so far that day is open.

One thing that might help with that is if we plan it a month or so out so everyone can plan around it. I realize the snow storm screwed up the last one, but hopefully with better weather forthcoming we can have a much larger meeting. Be cool to meet everyone.
