DENVER - A Texaco Express Lube will be closed Thursday as investigators and crews work to recover from an early morning fire.

At around 5 a.m. firefighters with the Denver Fire Department responded to the station, located at 9640 East Alameda Avenue, on report of a structure fire.

According to Alex Paez with Denver Fire, heavy smoke and fire was coming from the roof. Firefighters went to the roof and started making holes in an effort to put the fire out.

In less than an hour crews had the fire knocked out.

Xcel Energy also responded to the scene. According to Paez, the investigation of the fire is ongoing.
