DENVER – A house fire displaced two families early Monday morning but no one was injured.

The fire started shortly before 3 a.m. near the intersection of West Evans Avenue and South Acoma Street in Denver.

The residents of the home say the fire spread black smoke throughout the house in roughly a minute. Fire investigators have not said what they think caused the fire or how much damage was done. They were able to knock the fire out shortly after arriving.

The residents believe the fire started in the back bedroom of the home. They are being offered housing through the Red Cross.
